Is this product the same as a smart plug energy monitor?

No. Smart plugs monitor one plug-in device at an outlet. This WiFi Home Energy Monitor is designed for circuit-level monitoring in an electrical panel, using CT clamps to track selected circuits like HVAC, water heater, laundry, or garage equipment.

Does this monitor require professional installation?

Installation requires electrical panel wiring and identifying Live/Hot and Neutral wires. Turn off power before installation. If you are not familiar with electrical wiring, please hire a qualified electrician.

Can this be used for solar monitoring?

It can be used to monitor selected solar-related circuits, depending on your wiring setup. However, it is not a professional solar inverter monitoring system and does not replace dedicated solar net metering equipment.

Can it replace my utility electricity meter?

No. This product is an energy monitoring device and cannot replace a utility electricity meter. It is designed to help users monitor selected circuits and understand electricity usage trends.

Why does the app show 0 current or 0 power?

Please check whether the monitored wire passes through the CT clamp correctly and whether the circuit has an active load. The CT clamp measures current only when the correct wire passes through the clamp and the connected circuit is using power.
